Today I thought I'd share a couple of birthday cards that I have been working on. These are for some birthdays coming up this month.
On this first one I used the stamp set I Like You and my Blendabilities. I even added a little Wink of Stella from my stash to give it some 'shine'. The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes.
This card uses the new Little Letters Framelits to cut the Happy Birthday. The designer paper is from SAB (last year, I think). The dots and the 'wishes' is also from Endless Birthday Wishes. I added Wink of Stella to the letters, too. Love the subtle shine!
I hope you are all looking forward to the Holiday catalog. It will go live on August 28 (that way if there are any issues, they won't happen over the holiday weekend). If you would like a 'hard copy' of the Holiday catalog, leave a comment and I will get in touch with you to send you one, when I can.
Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!

July Shoebox
Today I will share the wonderful cards from our July Shoebox Swap. I meet monthly with a terrific group of ladies and this month we all brought a technique to share. What a fun day we had!
Although Jay-Dee's card didn't use SU! stamps, and the scan doesn't do it justice, this is the Polished Stone technique. Use alcohol on a cotton ball, drop a few drops of classic re-inker and a metallic re-inker, then 'pounce' the color on glossy card stock. It's really beautiful in real life!
Marilyn used 3 colors of classic ink refill on a make-up wedge and 'swirled' the color on Whisper White card stock. It makes a beautiful background for Lovely as a Tree! I can see this with fall colors and the large oak tree from this set.
Sue used a gingham napkin, separated the layers and then used 'cheapo' plastic wrap between the card stock and the napkin. We ironed the 'sandwich' until the plastic wrap fused the napkin to the card stock. Great effect, especially with the retired set that Sue chose!
Jen used the Daydream Medallions and the Floral Frames Framelits to create this Sunflower shaped card. It actually opens because you score the large layer and then adhere it to the back layer (although you can't see that in this pic). Great use of the Framelits to make a super card!
Dawn used the new Flower Patch stamp set and the Flower Flair Framelits to create this great 2-step stamping card. She used new In-Colors for the flowers and colored the button with Blendabilities. This card is so cheerful.
Mary Lou used 3 marbles and re-inkers to create this great background. Put the marbles in a container that can be closed. Add re-inkers and close the container. Then 'shake' the container as the marbles roll around in the ink, it creates this terrific background!
For this technique, take hubby's shaving cream (not gel) and fill a paper plate. Smooth it out and then add a few drops of re-inker (I used 2 colors) and with a skewer, swirl the color around. Then lay your card stock on the shaving cream. Lift it off and put a second sheet of card stock on top (you will get 2 sheets to use). Once you separate the 2 pieces of card stock, use a paper towel in a swirling motion to remove the excess shaving cream.
I hope you have enjoyed these cards and techniques and that you are inpired to create and share some of your own. Thanks for stopping by today. Until next time....Happy Stamping!

How to Use Blendabilities
For those of you who are still 'on the fence' about the Blendabilities, SU! has added some great videos to their YouTube channel here. The videos are from different SU! employees and how they blend with the markers. This will show you that there is really no 'right' or 'wrong' way to use them. It's whatever you're comfortable with. Go to the link and watch them, then go to my on line store and get yours. They really are a 'blast' to work with.
