Holiday Inspiration

I was so inspired by my friend Dawn and some of her projects at the retreat last weekend, that I came home and started crafting in earnest!

In a full size wood mount case I put 6 cards...2 each of 3 designs (including envelopes). The space on the right is for some Hershey nuggets. I used it as a drawing gift at my Shoebox Swap.

I then took a clear mount case and filled it with tags! There are 6 of the 3 X 3s and 6 of the long tags. These I'm going to try to sell at a local boutique.

Accordian Screen Card

As promised, this is my first attempt at making one of these new cards that are all over the web. I want to thank Dawn Oleschefske for the wonderful video tutorial that you can find on her blog.

The base of the card is basic black, the mats are Melon Mambo. The images on the panels are from the retired set Elements of Style. They are stamped in Mossy Meadow. The flowers are Melon Mambo and I think Pretty in Pink (it was a scrap), punched from Petite Petals and the retired Itty Bitty Punch Pack. The centers are colored rhinestones from my stash. The top is punched with the retired Scalloped Eyelet border punch. These are so much fun and so easy to make that I'm sure there will be more my future! Thanks again Dawn for the tutorial!

Mambo Birthdays

Hi Everyone. I was working in my stamp room and saw this sheet of Melon Mambo card stock. Since I had a couple of birthday cards to make...this is what I came up with.

 The base of this card is Naturals White. I much prefer it when using White as my base. Whisper White is my go to for layers, but doesn't seem to hold up to having layers added to it. The DSP layer is from the Sweet Taffy. I also used the White Organza ribbon. Behind the Sweet Taffy is that Melon Mambo card stock. The image is stamped on a layer that I die cut from the Deco Layers. Not sure where I got the image, but it's retired. The image layer is adhered with dimensionals. Used pearls for the centers of the flowers (they are colored with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities).

This is the other half of that Melon Mambo card stock. The white layer is embossed with the new Filigree embossing folder from the Holiday catalog. The image is a non-SU! image that was stamped in Memento Ink then colored with Melon Mambo Blendabilities (as were the pearls), I then used Wink of Stella for the 'glitz'. The image was then fussy cut and mounted on the black piece with dimensionals.

Weekend Retreat

I am scheduled to attend a weekend Craft Retreat starting Thurs., but I've been trying to fight off a cold since Friday. Not sure whether I'm winning or the cold is. But, if I do attend this retreat...look for some pictures of all the fun we'll be having next week!

A friend of mine is sponsoring this retreat in the mountains. This is the Palouse Divide Lodge, where we will be. Fortunately there is no snow on the ground now! Looking forward to a great time with about 20 other people just crafting away in the quiet of the mountains!

August Shoebox Samples

Can you believe it's September already? I can't. I hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend!

These are the cards we made at our August Shoebox Swap. Because of the holiday and some late summer colds, attendance wasn't a large as usual, but we still had a great time!
